Interviews at the Job Centre?

I've applied for a job (through Totaljobs), and they are holding interviews at the Job Centre Plus.

Just out of interest (and fear!) - do they have facilities at these centres for testing computer skills etc. such as graphic design programs?

Basically I am a graphic designer, and I do not know what software or platform (PC/Mac) they use (I have asked but no response). If they were to do some sort of test, and use software I don't normally use, I'd be at a serious disadvantage - if I knew, I'd do a crash course and wing it!

Do you think it's likely they'd do something like that there?

Surely, that all depends on what the job is you are aiming for?

If they were to do a test, they would ensure you were prepared for it rather than assuming you knew everything.

Hi squarebear

They have asked that I bring in a portfolio and they said "Beforehand we will provide you with a brief in which we will request that a short task is to be completed before the interview."

Very vague. Been a long time since I've been for an interview so it could be something basic like spelling / grammar but I just don't know. I've been to interviews before where they give you a brief software test. They never mentioned their software / platform in the job description.
