Can anyone tell me which cordless optical mouse is compatible with the Asus notebook using the LINUX system? Plenty are comptible with Microsoft, can't find one specific to Linux. If not cordless, which plug in would work best?

Official commercial support of Linux is lacking, so most hardware won't tell you it's compatible with Linux.

Luckily, the protocols used by mice are pretty standard. Because of this, you should be able to plug in just about any mouse, and it will work under Linux.

For example, I have the Logitech MX1000 wireless laser mouse (previous model to the one linked above), and it works with Linux fine after just plugging it in.

The only issue will be getting full control of all the buttons on the mouse, which may/will be more work. But just the usual 3 buttons, scrollwheel, etc., will work just after plugging it in.
