yes they work fine with the ps3, we use ours from our ps2 with it and the cam too

yes you can, but its better to get a official ps3 mic. Its quite awkward to speak into the mic while playing the game unless you have some sort of stand. My friends usually find it hard to understand what im saying as its quite muffled, but yes it does work :)
