My wife is nagging me she wants one of those bidet things you wash your feet in on your holidays. Have you got one? Are they hygienic do you use a towel to dry you're a*** that can't be very hygienic can it all the family would need their own towels? Help save me from this mad Woman! How do they work?

Thanks Octavius she can have one when shes old and infirm. Space in Octavius link it says ok for feet.

Have had a bidet for many years and yes for a woman they are (to my mind) essential.  You can get lovely modern ones now which spray from all angles and even blow dry.  Go on treat her!!!!
p.s. but surely all the family have their own towels when they bath - its the same.  I on the other hand have a cupboard with clean towels next to bidet and we use them once and wash them.  Simple really.

We've had a bidet for 15 years now and couldn't imagine being without one.

We leave a fresh towel adjacent to the bidet every day and that seems to work.

My cheeks have never been so rosy.

I did have a friend who got recurring cystitis that was finally tracked down to enthusiastic bideting and washing soiled soapy water up her urethra, but I think that modern day ones have gentler more angled spray

The bit about towels does not make sense:  even if you have a bath or shower you would still have to dry your bottom wouldn't you?  As the others suggest, change towels often. I am definitely having one installed when I have my bathroom refitted (eventually)!

Im a man I use the towels Im told to use. Her towels feel nice and soft mine are like brillo pads I dont care long as they get me dry.

When we moved into this house 22 years ago, we had a new white bathroom suite fitted including a bidet.

I must admit my husband uses it more than I do! I prefer using Andrex Wipes - but I always feel fresh, clean & smell lovely!

Also, the Grandchildren have had many a happy time in there, playing with their tea sets & little sea animals!

Further to my earlier post, above. As I say we've had our bidet for about 15 years and I really wouldn't be without one now.

Before we reviewed our bathroom setup we considered upgrading for several years, so I would say don't wait too long as I did. I just couldn't be arsed.
