Exfoliating.

I have a lovely golden tan and I also was given as a present a voucher for using at the beauty salon. I was going to have one of these body wrap/exfoliating body and face things but am wondering if it will exfoliate my tan away?? Does anyone know if it will lighten it dramatically or not??

yes, i would think it will.  Depending on how deep your tan is it is only the top layer(s) of skin which are tanned and by exfoliating you are taking off the top layer of skin, so it will reduce your tan, possibly significantly.  Either have it done and then fake tan until yours builds up again through the summer, or save the voucher till later on in the year.

I heard that exfoliatiing has the opposite effect - by removing the top layer of skin cells, it lets the tan show through more - I guess this would make sense unless the tan was relatively new.
