MM Links Solutions April 2009 [Week 1]

The first week in the reign of Baron Brian went perfectly ~ in spite of the fact most of the preparation was "last minute". The obvious theme of "The Grand National" brought forth the following chosen links:

National ANTHEM
Jump START
Crowd CONTROL
DAMP Course

There were points aplenty for many entrants. More than usual for a first week!

The race got off to a lively start with CROWD CONTROL being an early faller and TWO POINTS were thereby scored by roslyn251254, Jools, slaney, LaneyB & Paulineward before 09.03. In the meantime, both 3 had Crowd Control ~ but also got off to a JUMP START to pick up FOUR POINTS.

Not to be outdone, Dinkypuzzled came through on the rails singing the NATIONAL ANTHEM claiming her TWO POINTS and opening up the field. The runners then settled down as SINGLE POINTS were scored by fordward, lysander, bridgenut, Aquagility, patchett & wickedtongue.

Nearing the middle of the race, a much-fancied filly called seekeerz showed a preference for soft ground and the DAMP COURSE (together with Crowd Control) earned her well deserved THREE POINTS. Around this point, double hits were registered by teacher1946, Elspeth & the Ont-ices (when their scores were added!).

Thereafter, the scoring slowed down to a trickle ~ with devadiva & ChrisHewat each scoring One Point before the race ended as a dead heat with x-ray & gen2 neck and neck.
