Training for Race for Life
1 Answers
I was wondering if anyone could give me best advice on how to train for the the Race for Life?
I do 'run' whilst at the gym, but understand running on a treadmill and outdoors are completely different.
It is only 5k, which I know is nothing compared to what some people can run but what kind of regime should I be doing (the race is in June 2009).
many thanks. xx

Have a rest day.
Repeat this process throughout the week- one day jogging one rest day- if you can only go certain days have two rest days in a row if necessary.
On the second week jog for five lamposts and walk for two. Have the rest days still.
Continue this, adding one lampost to the jogging part each time until you feel comfortable jogging for 5k.
