partner and i have discussed getting married and i would like to get married abroad somewhere to save money but he will NOT fly! weve always talked about going on a cruise though, does anyone know if you can get married by the captain onboard the ship? ive pitched the idea to my partner and hes really into it

would you do this through a travel operator? we just thought we like it this way because there will be no arguments with family, it will be us, our kids and our parents and our siblins {if they can afford it}. We begrudge paying for someone to attend our wedding when we dont see or hear from them. But we will have a party when we come back for all who couldnt come.

Book it through a travel agent who will contact the appropriate tour operator.

Do you need a best man....or usher.......or as it''s a cruise, a bridesmaid?

we did think of inviting our best friends but as they've got children themselves the issue of cost comes into it, so if they couldnt come to be bestman/bridesmaid we were hopeing that we might get away with having our parents as witnesses.
