Is it just me or am I being a bit like Victor Meldrew, whenever I ask a question on AB and it is answered I always either give it a star rating or leave a comment to thank people for taking the time to answer, to me it is just ignorant to read all the answers without leaving an acknowledgement
I suppose it's a problem if as you say you are at work, It's not about looking for thanks etc. it's just nice to know that they have read your answer...
although i'm a **** i do say thanks,i even thanked a couple of users on someone else's thread yesterday because the answer to the question was bugging me.
if they don't acknowledge your help that makes them fair game for a bit of micky taking to wind them up . IMO
Good manners were once the norm, times have changed and sadly we now live in a predominantly me-first society, with bad manners and morals. So it's refreshing to see fellow answerbankers like you sprayer who have the good grace to thank people and it can be rewarding to get the odd star now and again.
I am mainly on the crossword side of AB, I don't mind not getting stars but it is nice to be acknowledged if you have helped, I always give stars and thank each person who has helped me with my questions.
What annoys me most though, is that if I ask a question regarding their post and they just ignore me and don't reply..
So it is not you sprayer it is only politeness.
