Hi - My +/- DVD burner is 8 speed, and im using 8 speed blank dvd disks. The burners' firmware is up to date, but nero doesnt have a burn speed option above 4. Why is this?

Sounds like a driver issue, visit the manufacturers home page and see there has been an update, not too familiar with Nero so not sure but it could also be a case that the machine has set the max speed from its success rate in previous writing attempts. Hope this helps

Are you using R or RW discs?I think the maximum speed only applies to R discs. My burner can burn DVD at X16,but if I used an RW disc, the speed drops to X8.Nero usually shows the maximium possible speed for the inserted disc. Its been a while since I used a CD disc, but if I used a CD R, Nero would show a maximum speed of 32.
