7th Grade Math

I am helping my son with his homework. He has four problems that look like this:
2! =
3! =
4! =
5! =
What does that mean????

I think a child of 3's far too young to be in a school environment, although a lot of scools here DO now accept younger ones for a couple of hours a day.
I believe that in Sweden, children start when they're 7, and by the time they reach 10, they're on a par with those whose children started before. I think this's one of the problems with today's society. Governments don't acknowledge the great job that most parents do, and force them to go out to work and put their children into childcare and schools. I think they should be paid a decent wage to stay at home if they want to, and teach their children through play, before they embark on formal education. the stress of trying to juggle a job, and a homelife, with time for the children, isn't working. There are now more folk taking sick leave through stress, than ever before, and it's the children who're losing out on having a parent there with them.

Ice I agree with you, but what is a parent to do? The day care was wonderful with a lot of education through free and structured play. They were so caring. My niece was actually a flower girl in the wedding of one of the teachers.

I don't know that kindergarten is really very structured (though a friend of mine told me her little boy had just been moved up a class at his preschool, which startled me). But while many parents do a great job, others pay little attention to their kids; I think for their kids, some sort of schooling, and learning to socialise, is a good thing.

Don't get me wrong - some parents have little choice in the matter, and for the most part, I think the teachers do their utmost to make early learning interesting and valid, but if you ask any little tot what they'd rather do - go to school or stay at home with mummy....most'll give the obvious answer.
