Badly stained cutlery drawer

Has anyone got any ideas on how best to tidy up a badly stained cutlery drawer please?
It is a cutlery tray from an old campervan so buying a new replacement isn't an option.
I have tried scrubbing but the stains are there to stay. How could I cover it up? There was sticky backed plastic (very Blue Peter!) on it before but it was really untidy looking.
Anybody got any suggestions please?
Thanks.

Why not use Plasti-Kote spray paint it comes in 60 different colours and is ideal for this purpose. Have a look on their web sit www.plasti-kote.co.uk for some ideas.
