A certain social group.

I'm sure we've all read the news/threads on here about caps and hoodies being banned at Bluewater.  And I'm sure we all know the sort of people they're trying to ban.  I'd be interested for people to answer this thread with the name of their town, and the name they use for this group.  E.g.,

 

Cheltenham - Chavs

Manc - Scallies

 

PS - Let's not get into a debate about the Ch in Chav standing for Cheltenham, Chelmsford, or Chester etc average.  :-p  All those towns can share credit equally I think! :-)

I wonder how many 0n-the-spot reports we'll get, since some of the news media think Bluewater is in a different county..

In Shropshire there was a gang of apprentice football hooligans who called themselves the English Border Front.  Unfortunately they gained a lot of undeserved credibility when other people started to call them by that name.

In Glasgow they're called Neds but when I lived in Northern Ireland we called them Spides... I know that n.e.d. is supposed to stand for non-educated delinquents but I've no idea where spide comes from...

On Teesside it's Twockers, from the car theft crime Taking Without Owners Consent, regardless whether or not any crime has been committed.

In Hartlepool, it's "Chor" my wife informs me.

alot of this 'banning hoods and caps' started because CCTV could not identify shoplifters faces. its just a bonus that it also gets rid of the 'Pikeys'  (Essex'ism) at the same time.
