KM Links Game - April week 2

Good Morning everyone - welcome to the second week of the revamped Links Game which certainly seemed to get a good reception last weekend.

As we mentioned this is a trial month with a different form of scoring and it all went pretty much to plan - the basic aim is to predict the matching words to go with this morning's links which are -
ACID
BRIDGE
COLORADO
BARN

As usual the contest is open till midnight Sunday and there's no rush, however once the Herculis is posted online and the matches are known, then the scoring will commence.

One slight alteration I'd like to make - next weekend I'd like to post the thread for a 7.00am start - at present I'm lodging this at 3.00pm [my time] which rather plays havoc with Saturday afternoons, so if its' alright with everyone we might make it a bit later.

I have approached my suggested links on the basis of being a British politician. I have monitored and counted all your suggestions and those which I have chosen have been the most popular words i.e. as a typical politician I have no views of my own I just want to win.
So
acid RAIN (from your suggestions, by a distance over drop)
colorado BEETLE (miles ahead over river and springs)
barn OWL (by a head over dutch and dance)
Now bridge threw up 20 suggested links at the last count but the most popular by and by more than a distance was
CONTRACT bridge.
Now if I win, being a politician, it will prove how clever I am in being in tune with the public.
And if I don't it will prove that I have been badly instructed or lied to by a member of my cabinet who should immediately resign!
