Hi peeps, I think I have done something quite silly but hey, maybe you can help me - I have ordered an ipod mini from the USA (I have been assured that all I will need is a uk to america adapter.)  I have since been told that you have to pay 75p for each song you download?! Is this true & is it possible to download tunes from a program such as "limewire" that I use to make CD'Ss from?  I am very worried about this now as it has cost me alot of money I shouldnt have spent in a moment of impulse... I have no idea how to transfer songs from my computer onto the ipod - I have a packard Bell PC with Windows XP - I have no idea what all this firewall / cables isb ports stuff is all about either!? Thanks Guys!

Ms Puddin_n_pie, you don't have to pay 75p for each song you put onto your i-pod. You can transfer your entire CD collection to your computer, and transfer tracks to your i-pod mini for free.

You can however, choose to buy new tracks that you don't already own from the i-Tunes store to put on your i-pod mini. And these tracks will set you back 75p.

Or you can use programs such as Limewire or Soulseek, which allow you to download songs from other users that use those programs. This is free - but also illegal. However some would argue that it is only as illegal as taping a friends album.

The choice is yours. But in essence, you can can fill your i-pod mini with all your favourite tunes that you currently own, without having to pay a penny.
By the way owning an i-pod is great...and if you are like me, it will totally transform your commuting life!

i to use limewire and also use it to download songs for my ipod mini to do this you just need to go into itunes and click on file and then click on ADD FILE TO LIBARY and then find were all your songs are kept and highlight which ones you want on your ipod by holding down CTRL and click open and they will transfer to the libary and then all you need to do is click file UPDATE IPOD. For an easier way of putting songs on your ipod you should first make sure your ipod is connected and then click EDIT when you are on itunes and click on prefference then click on IPOD when you are in prefference, then makesure that all these bits are UNticked, AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE SONGS ON MY IPOD, AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE SELECTED PLAYLISTS ONLY and then tick manualy manage songs and playlists and click ok. next step when you have the songs that you want in the itunes libary drag the songs to the folder on the left hand side of the screen named ipod it has a little picture of an ipod. after that it should say on the little screen in itunes UPDATING IPOD. i hope i have helped you with everything you needed. O by the way the firewall cable is for the charger you need to connect it to the charger. enjoy
