10 Answers
Out today with my 2 Jack Russells, 3 dogs appeared out of nowhere and attacked them. They are not seriously hurt, god knows how, but I am SO upset, still crying 8 hours later,my babies were on their backs being mauled by an Alsatian and 2 Staffies, and believe me, I like both them breeds, on facebook last week i voted them in my top 5,so its not prejudice. I can't get the sounds of the screaming my dogs made out of my head. Its horrid

I usually walk him down the beach and throw a stick into the water for him. I stopped doing that for a while when a great white was spotted off the coast of Valencia last year. I'm sorry, but I would have kicked the dogs if they'd been attacking mine.
No Slinky, they weren't. I just didn't know which one to help, i was desperate and when they'd gone i bent down to my dogs to check them and give them a love, and my legs just gave way. My fone went and it was my neighbour,he'd seen me go out then heard it all, so worked out it was me,and told me to stop where i was and he came and got me. It's hours later and i'm still crying, but trying not to let me pups see me
It must've been a dreadful shock for you cb. One of our Staff's got out not so long ago, and attacked another dog that strained on the lead and barked at him. The trouble is, these dogs don't like other dogs very much, yet are very fond of people. They instinctively protect their patch. I'd suggest that you have your little dogs checked over, and try and find out who owns the others - if you don't know already. The police'd make a visit, and check that the owners had all precautions in place - such as muzzles, and ask how/why the animals were out on their own. I hope you and your dogs'll be OK. x
Thanks Ice magsiden, i am still shaking so much its hard to type, but i agree with wot u say. I have had German Shepherds all my life, I love them and Staffys are in my top 5, i know they are lovable to people and protective of them, so will protect wot they see as threats. But till today never bin on the wrong side of them, it was awful,my Jack Russells are just playful softies with other dogs
You've every reason to feel upset - so would I be. If you have any ripped clothes, or your dogs need treatment at the vets, then there's the chance that the owners of the attacking dogs could be made to pay, but if they can fulfil the criteria that the police'd ask them, then I'm afraid you might just have to accept that what's done's done. I was mortified when ours got out. It was through someone leaving our gates open, but fortunately the damage to the other dog and its owner was negligible. Even so, we offered to pay any vet's fees, etc. The police came to check our dog out. Daft as a brush - as they could see - but we have ours chipped, collared and tagged, and everything in order. Nothing more was done about it, but had the dog been allowed to roam, and hurt another animal or person, then he would've probably been put down.
