Someone I know says he removes light scratches with toothpaste but I don't know if his are plastic or glass.

Don't try the toothpaste if you have an anti-reflective coating. I did and it made it much much worse.

If the lenses are uncoated, try Duraglit metal polish wadding.

I once used Brasso to get scratches off my mobile phone screen, and that was plastic : )
