My brother-in-law is a huge Liverpool fan and knew people that lost their lives that day.
I remember Hillsborough being the third of three awful disasters - there seemed to be one terrible one happening every 2 years or so - firstly the Bradford stadium fire in 1985, then the Zeebrugge ferry sinking in 1987, then Hillsborough. My kids were only little at the time of all these, and it seemed as though I had brought them into a world that was brimful of disasters and sadness.
How's this for a tribute.

I've just read about this on Wikipedia, and it's from the AC Milan v Real Madrid game that took place four days after Hillsborough. The game had been playing for 6 minutes when the Referee called a halt to observe a minutes silence, and you can hear the AC fans singing "You'll Never Walk Alone"
Like salla said, I remember seeing the pictures from the Bradford Fire disaster (which will soon be remembered - May 11th) and I can also remember seeing Des Lynam on Grandstand and the pictures from the ground that day. They are images that should not be forgotten, but, they are things you should not have to remember. I don't support any of those teams but they were disasters for Football.
For the 56 in Bradford in 1985 and the 96 in Sheffield in 1989 you shall never be forgotten. RIP
