Florida on a Budget?
Hi all,
I am absolutely desperate to go to Florida in the next couple of weeks. I went this time last year with my parents, sister and boyfriend and had the best time of my life. My family don't want to go back so soon, but I'm desperate for my boyfriend and I to go. We've just bought our first flat, so money is a bit of an issue. The BF has agreed that we can go, as long as I can get it down to a decent price. It's proving a bit of a problem and wondered if anyone had any tips? I guess Florida isn't really the sort of holiday that you can do on a budget, but I just want to go so much. I'm finding that it's the Disney tickets that is huge chunk of the price 235 for a 7-day pass! Does anyone know where you can get this cheaper? Also we're considering connecting flights as a cheaper option. Never done this before, so I'm a little concerned about out luggage ending up in the same place as us! Any advice guys?

I wouldn't even consider it if I thought we would get into any financial difficulty. I have just received a bonus from work so am planning on using a bit of this for it, so I'm fine. It's my boyfriend that I need to get the budget down for, else he won't go for it. I sorted out every aspect of purchasing the flat on my own, from the mortgage to the solicitors so feel like I need a nice break! Just hoping to do it as cheaply as possible, as we all are during these tough times.
Why not consider Universal tickets rather than Disney.
Universal tend to undercut Disney prices to encourage people to use their parks rather than Disney.
Universal have 2 great parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure which are as good as anythng Disney have.
They also have 2 "partner" parks which is Wet and Wild (water park) and Sea World (sea animals plus some theme park rides) which are both excellent.
You can by a joint ticket for the two universal parks and the 2 partners parks for less than the price of Disney tickets.
I think you could still have a great holiday just going to these parks (and maybe just one or two Disney parks).
