I'm looking for a lively holiday destination that ISN'T in Greece or Spain as I've done them to death!  Love the party scene but fancy somewhere a bit different.  Want to go away in Sept but suffer from Prickly Heat so have to be really careful with the sun.  Can't really do any hotter than 80...any suggestions?

What about Cancun, Mexico?  Not my scene, but a lot of the original 'Ibiza crowd' have moved to there.

Croatia is also supposed to be pretty mad.

How about the Balkans (e.g. Tallinn),  or Prague. They seem to be the 'in' places for stag nights and parties etc. these days.

if you like parties then the carribean is a must ......its one big party there  , or how about cuba. i havent been to mexico but like luckystrike said it has a reputation for being "spanish"  sun sea sand and sangria and all that....;)

Tallinn's the Baltics, not the Balkans (Balkans is ex-Yugoslavia, Romania, places like that). Don't be like those people who booked a flight to Sydney and found themselves in Sydney Canada!
my mistake, didn't check a map first.

The Algarve?  Plenty of nightlife and a comfortable temperature in september, and the accommodation is excellent.

Or America (Florida)? everywhere is air conditioned!

I also suffer from Prickly heat and I find that anywhere in the mediterranean has a very dry heat which drives your skin mad. I went to Florida/Miami last summer and the climate there is very humid and I didn't suffer at all with prickly heat. We also had a brill time there!!

Cyprus in Sep/Oct just right for us!

If you suffer from prickley heat here is a couple of tips to reduce the problem

1) Dont use waterproof sunscreen, it blocks the pores and lets the skin overheat.

2) take half an asprin every morning, and dont hit the booze to hard on the first few days.

3) Air conditioning makes you feel cool, but moving from hot to cold air temparatures all the time makes the itching worse.

4) Drink plenty of water (4-5 pints a day) and use deoderants not antipersperants.

5) Wear a T'shirt (white, if poss) between 11am and 3pm when the suns at its hottest.

Good Luck!

You could try Worthing, I'm sure they have a "happening" party scene AND you can get fish and chips and a lovely pot of tea really cheap.  (See HAPPYCHAPPY'S post 3 or 4 questions up).  Sounds like the place to be.
