Bush DVRHS02 or DVRH502 Have you got one what is it like?

Our family video recorder is on it's last legs. I know dvd recorders are meant to be the way forward but I would not be able watch my favorite video only recordings any more so i'm thinking about a dvd/vcr combi.the most reasonable i've seen is the Bush DVRHS02 or DVRH502 from argos . Has anyone got one and is it a good buy many thanks in advance

Personaly I wouldn't buy a combi tv/vcr or dvd/vcr as when one part breaks you have lost the lot. A lot of the dvd/vcr combinations are video for recording off tv and dvd, but the dvd is playback only. While Bush have been around for years they aren't considered to be a top make (they're on par with Ferguson, Alba, etc).

DVD players don't cost a lot, and vcr's are very cheap now for good ones. You can get a dvd recorder later on if you wish. I bought a vcr from Lidl (I think �89) a year or two ago and have had no problems with it. It is AKAI with LP/SP, Nicam stereo, 6 head, PDC, Videoplus, 2 scart sockets (rear) and AV3 at front (3 phono plugs.. red, white, yellow), remote control, etc.

I have had Bush VCR from Argos (�125) for about 2/3 years but no problems so far. I would certainly buy two separate devices - VCR & DVD not one as responded by another user.

Thanks for the advice now all I have to do is save up. I will definately consider the Bush name.
