In my workplace I have been named in an Email that wrongly accuses me of negligence. When confronted my manager accepted the "mistake" but by doing so let the cat out the bag that he was acting on information received. The question is: Am I entitled to see any email that mentions my name?

If a genuine mistake was made, which seems to have been the case, I cannot see what right you would have to be shown the e-mail concerned.

By law, you can request to have access to all emails that mention your name under the data protection law.

I did this mant years ago when I was on the verge of being sacked though. You may have to pay them a tenner and have to wait 40 days i think
