MWB - if they'd fixed your fire, they would've given you an invoice for the job, or sent a bill. Records'd show up back at their office. Obviously they can't produce any evidence, so you're within your rights to compalin further.

I wondered what that, "Help me, I'm stuck up here." was? But it got fainter & less often so I ignored it.

The powers that be have emailed me back to say they are onto it & say it WILL be fixed.

Our chimney sweeps have a right job. The chimney flues are big, and I've no idea whether they use a suction thing or brushes. The smell of soot makes me choke, so I go out of the way.
