i was up very late last night talking to nice people about their ist.jobs,it was great,i think i am getting a bad addiction to this site, btw.what was your first job?
Rinkins - I'm interviewing for a new p.a next week, but no bar work/waitressing involved, apart from pouring me and my entourage out a drink, on occasion! (not a prolific drinker though, but a social one!!!)
Are you near the South Coast?
Slinky - Just got back last night from abroad,so i just got up about an hour ago - loads to do but cant be bothered to do 'em - but no gig tonight, only tommorrow tonight, so have night off. Oh yesss!!!
It's horrible, grey and rainy here on the South Coast today but the forecast is great for a sunny weekend both tommorrow and Sunday!!! xxxx
A gig yogi? What do you do? Thanks for the offer, the south coast is very tempting though whatever the job! I'm in Essex but I come and visit friends in Bournemouth whenever I can. They keep telling me to move!
Slinks - my first real steady job is on the top of your list,
but i did work as a paper boy when really young and at a large supermarket in South London when about 15 - earned enough money to buy my first decks, lights etc from Roger Squires Disco Centre in Harrow!!
:0)) xxx
Rinkins - I'm a club dj first and foremost, and gig all over the UK and Europe, especially in the summer holiday season, as well as the States and sometimes further afield too, but i also do play at any special functions i'm booked for, such as "ladies nights", anniversaries, birthdays, company functions, riverboat discos etc- you name it!, but theyre great fun too!
If you let me know what sort of bar work/waitressing you'd like, i do have some contacts - may be able to help.
xxxx
omg Cinderellas in Kingston!!! that takes me back lol....
Hi Slinky,
My first job was at The Outrigger pub in Kingston at the ripe old age of 15 lol and I was left in charge of the place and food!!! no idea what I was doing and Neil (Nigel Planer) from the Young Ones came in and ordered a carrot salad... I didn't know what a carrot salad was and asked him and he got all 'lovey' about it... I served him a plate of grated carrot and have never forgotten what a complete a'hole he was lol
