Ever been overland to india?

has anyone ever travelled over land to India and what advice would they give and what route did they take?

There are a couple of jokers but there are also some people who will be more then happy to help. I think the various international governments are discouraging their citizens from travelling to India at the moment but there's no harm in planning ahead.
