okay.. correct me if im wrong but lindsay's surname is Gardener (from an episode where her and ryan first met in the classroom) and her mums surname is Wheeler.. there was no Dad until Kalib JUST said he was the dad.. so can anyone explain why the surnames are different.???

i'm not sure *exactly* what you're talking about, but there are a few reasons why children don't have the same name as their dad.  Divorce/new stepfather/a child born out of marriage/a single mother who doesn't want to name her child for the father if he has treated her badly/adoption, the list goes on.

Maybe Lindsay's mum was married and kept her name, it could have been before Kalib or after.  Besides people can have what ever surname they like.

I do agree that is it kinda confusing though.  I thought that the test might show that she wasn't either of their's.  But I guess the plot was confusing enough already.
