Thank you, Clio, Now I know what economists are referring to when they talk about 'cash crops' ;-)
I can't recall finding anything particularly odd in my food, unless you count a sliced green bean hiding in the custard with my jam roly poly in a Brighton caf
Ive found an ouly screw in a packet of vinegar crisps one and a dead bluebottle in my Turkish Roll and was accused of puting it there myself to get my 1.50 back pmsl some people
Ive found an oily screw in a packet of vinegar crisps once and from a takeaway shop, a dead bluebottle in my Turkish Roll and was accused of putting it there myself to get my 1.50 back pmsl some people
Clio:
I hope that you don't completely follow in the Greek muse's footsteps. If so, I'd hate to be your son, 'cos the name 'Hyacinth' might cause me a few problems ;-)
I once found a (whole) mouse in a(n unsliced) loaf of bread.. it was crunchy when I tried to slice it up.. I kid you not.. I have found caterpillars in bags of salad, spiders in bags of bananas, egg shell in egg mayo salad etc etc.. but never ever found money in food. I did find a living fly in a bar of a plain chocolate snack but cannot remember the snack bar.. the dratted fly flew off as soon as I opened the bar which impressed me no end hehe..
a fried dragonfly in my fish & chips!
in a tin of corned beef - a tongue (cow I think!)
Walkers packet of crisps - a fried slice of wood!
tin of tomatoes - a maggot
R Whites lemonade - a piece of metal that looked like a tool you use on a bicycle
i found a small pieces of metal on my last piece of toffee bought from Thorntons, i took it back to the store, and they took my details etc... few weeks later i got a letter from the head office apologising of what i found and that the metal must have come from a faulty machine. they gave me a 20 voucher for good will gester.
