Can't access a photo folder - locks up my photos completely
2 Answers
HELP!!!! I tried to delete a folder and got some error that it couldn't be done because some other program was accessing it. Later o I must have inadvertently dragged all of my April pictures (in one folder) and dropped it into this folder. Every time I try to click on the folder my entire MY PHOTOS locks up. I can't even highlight the folder to delete it, open it, move my other folders out, etc. I tried installing a recovery program to see if files were deleted or stored elsewhere on computer and no luck. I watched all the fields it looked into (even hidden files) and never evens aw the computer register this file folder. Unfortunately one of the folders in it had all the pictures I was to use for illustrating a chldrens story. Any ideas how to access this would be greatly appreciated. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

which version of windows?
couple of things that can cause this (actually lots and lots ... but )
If you have the folder set to preview ... windows will have a bi of a wobbly if there are 100s of files (5000+ is really noticeable 15000+ will freeze lower powered machines
preview will also stop you deleting files while it's generating the preview ... so big files or lots of files ...
couple of things you can try

alternatively it's the command line which will take a bit more typing
try above ...come back if no joy
