Non-getting of bbc iplayer

Why can't I get BBC iplayer on my computer - I asked on answerbank and was told how to get it, but it just does not work. This computer is driving me mad!!!

Thanks for any suggestions - I've got one I have considered but thrift prevents me from carrying it out.

just a thought - it's not the offline version you need is it?
if yes look at the more updates button ... go for explorer
