They've moved up here to the Midlands Gooner where it's a bit quieter! I saw two cheeky ones this morning shredding the liner of my hanging basket to make their nests. By the end of the week there'll just be a pile of compost & plants left on the ground!!
Got loads here in the North West, though I have seen reports that they haven't been doing too well in some areas. There was a lady making a study of them in the South East, but I don't know what the outcome was.
im in SE london and i saw 3 sparrows fighting this morning it was so evil..2 adult ones were beating up a baby that couldnt even fly properly..im really emotional so it nearly made me cry
I think that one of the reasons for their disappearance is that modern houses don't have any little gaps under the tiles for them to nest in. (Probably got that off Bill Oddie or something). Anyway, apparently if you make or buy compartmented nest boxes and put them up, they quite like those. They like to live in communities.
Nice one for all the answers .. starting to make sense .. especially Gracey's answer .. seem they dont like the city, but the one's who choose to stay are hard little f**kers!! ;0)
