There are so many slimming clubs with different types of diets, I would like to lose around 10 lbs most of which seems to be around my  middle, since I got to the wrong side of 50 it doesn't seem to budge despite the gym and swimming.  Anyone got any suggestions.  Thanks a lot.

Hi Linda, I started Weight Watchers 4 weeks ago, and have lost 8lbs up to now, it's a points diet and low fat. I have started on 24 points and find I eat much healthier now. I actually eat more now, I used to miss breakfast, which I don't now. At first I was buying all Weight Watchers food, until I went to Tesco, and found that all their Healthy Living foods have the points on them, and they have a really wide range of foods, you can even eat cakes...lol. Hope this helps.
losing fat is about calorific intake, nothing more. its all in the diet, cut your intake by 250 cals a day to start, if that doesnt work then another 250 and so on and on.

My sister and I both do the Slimming World diet and both love it. You are given a long list of 'free foods' of which you can eat literally as much as you like. Then other foods are given a sin value. We personally find it a lot less complicated then other diets and are both proof that it does work.

Hi Linda51

Like milly143 I also joined slimming world with my sister.  She has lost 1 and a half stone and I lost 2 stone.  i joined a year ago and got to target within 6 months (could have done it a lot quicker though but had a few holidays inbetween!).  We still enjoy attending class and following the plan.  Its not a diet, its just healthy eating and you can still have 'naughty food/drink' (in moderation).

Good luck. :)

one of the big culprets preventing weight loss is eating starchy foods more than once a day, for some people, and for others too big a serving at meals for others.  This is besides the usual too much fat and sugar. As you are already exercising Linda, perhaps cutting back on this type of food may help, replacing it with raw fruits and veg, and protein. Also dates are a good  replacement too. (not too many, as in a packet per helping). Hope you find a way.
