Hi. I miscarried just over4 weeks ago. I have just started my first period since the pregnancy and it is really really heavy. I cant remember ever having a period as heavy as this before. I am losing about as much blood as I did during the 10 days of my Miscarriage bleed.

Any ideas if this is normal..???

Thanks. C.x

can i suggest that you call your GP or at least NHS direct for advice.
Hi
When I had my first period after my 1st miscarriage last year it was worrying heavy, and I did end up going to the docs as it was so bad. Everything was ok but I would suggest you at least speak to your GP and see what they say.
Hope you are feeling better soon, things do get easier, I promise

Hi clydeserani. I have suffered 2 miscarriages and on both ocassions had extremely heavy periods after them. With the firt one I went to my GP, who put my mind at rest about it. Exactly the same thing happened the second time, but having experienced it before I didn't go to the GP. Making an appointment with your GP might be a good idea, even if it is just to talk and see that you are coping with it OK. As Picky says, things will get easier with time. I hope things wrok out for you.

Hi Red, Picky and Pooh...

Thanks for the advice. I called NHS 24 and they advised me that this is perfectly normal and I shouldn't worry about it, so I feel better now.

Also knowing that this has happened to other AB users puts my mind at rest.

Thanks for the advice and support.

I feel happier now knowing that my body is starting to get back to normal at least.
