When the big dog lies down to chew a bone, the puppy generally picks up its own bone, climbs on top and starts chewing. What's all this about?

It's for security.

The pup will have learned that being close to its mum means safety, so a larger dog will represent the same feelings - a warm body and an adult smell will mean he is safe to chew his bone in peace.

This will stop when he gets bigger - if your big dog doesn't object, and they usually don't, just leave them to it.
It must feel really secure with the bigger dog - it must be a cute scene.

Good luck.
it could be domonenecy b carefull but if the dogs young its prob it likes being close 2 the other dog if the other dog dont mind it then dont worry but if the other dog dont like it stop the dog from doing it cause it will cause a fight wen the dogs older
