The search for another IVY

I have a Bedlington Whippet Lurcher x Dalmatian. I believe that one of her parents was a Lurcher (Bedlington Terrier crossed with a Whippet) and the other was a Dalmatian. I want to either find another dog like this or trace any that were from the same litter of pups. All I know is that she was originally bought from Free Ads, probably the Yorkshire edition and sold to a bloke in Barnsley in 2004. Can anyone help?

The problem with crossbreeds or mongrels is that they take some genes from both parents, but you will never know which ones they will take after, even within a litter there may be several different types. Even the 'designer' crosses such as Labradoodles or Cockerpoos may have very different traits from their brothers and sisters, i.e. some may be curly, some may be smooth, they may be different colours or sizes. Factor in yet another cross in the parents generations and you end up with a melting pot of assorted colours, sizes, coats and of course temperaments. This is why many people prefer a purebred or pedigree breed, so they know within a little what sort of dog they are going to end up with. You are very unlikely to find a replica of your previous dog, even cloned animals do not neccessarily resemble their parents. Also even if they do look like your dog, the temperament may be totally different.

Thanks for your answer, I'm aware of what you are saying. I've had Bedlington Terrier cross Whippet dogs before and the type of Lurcher they make are actually very similar to one another in both looks and temperament.

I'm not trying to replace a dog that I've lost, Ivy is still alive and well. What makes her different I believe is the Dalmatian part, she looks like a Bedlington Whippet Lurcher and behaves like one to some extent but also has the typical Dalmatian characteristics mixed into her personality.

I'm interested to know if anyone out there has or knows of a dog like this and if so can I have it lol.
