I'm obviously an old fart compared to some of you guys but I served over 15 years with the Royal Signals, coming out 1983.
Because of the job I was doing, I didn't have to go to the Falklands, was down to go to N.I. a few times but they were all cancelled unbelievably, but a good mate of mine took a bullet in the back over there and didn't make it - b*stards!
It grips my sh*t big time when you get more publicity being given to Jade Goody's funeral, and condolences from out P.M., and we've got men and women getting blown away in Iraq and Afghanistan with barely a mention! Pathetic!!!
