Sewing my ripped jeans

Just a little update and a thanks.  You guys were quite right - mother does know best.  She took one look at my ripped cropped jeans that I'd stuck my foot through the "designer" rips of.  She then said "well why don't you just loosely sew across the hole so that it doesn't CLOSE the hole, but it does hold it together.  Ah - smart woman my mum!!!  So if you too stick your foot through your rips - that's what to do - zigzag loose tacking stiches across the hole - and you have an uncle called Bob!
