Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2 - Help!

I have this programme on my computer. When I try to access data from the disc (getting a picture to make a card for instance) it tells me "Cannot open file because the parser module cannot parse the file." This is as clear as mud to me! Is there anything I can do to solve the difficulty?  What does it mean?.............
