I'm trying to remember the name of a series shown late on a Fri/Sat night, BBC2, approx 4 yrs ago, American-made, about a guy who manages to get to the top of a company by using a fake identity. The main character was badly treated as a child, kept in a cardboard box, ?burnt his house/parents. Not much to go on, I know!

is this the series where the guy playing the lead looks like the policeman from Terminator 2 and at the end he is in the bedroom of a really high class apartment and he sleeps on the floor by the bed-the camera rising up through the roof-him getting smaller and smaller and whimpering?? I saw it once or twice and it was freaky but no idea of a title-something like 'the corporation'?
The series was called Profit, after Jim Profit played by Adrian Pasdar (not the guy in T2 though!) Shown towards the end of 1997 on a Sunday night on BBC2 - I seem to recall it was repeated on Sky, but I might be wrong there. Only 8 episodes were ever made. Fox stated that there had been a lukewarm reception to the series in the US so pulled the plug. There are very few sites on the net, try http://dpcc.com/lpetix/profit/ or http://math.rice.edu/~gsclark/profit.html Hope that helps!
what a relief that was, now I can sleep at night (whimpering like a dog)
