Engine Management Light
6 Answers
Hi, I've posed a few questions on here before. My head gasket went recently, I found this out because i was losing water and the oil had turned to like a white yoghurt. Anyway, before i had the head done, the engine management light was coming on. What happens is, i can be driving and when i start to slow down, the engine management light comes on and when the revs get low, the car will cut out. If i catch it in time, i can rev it high and it will carry on running perfectly but with the engine management light still on until i turn the engine off. I recently also had the radiator changed, the radiator switch, the cambelt and the thermostat. does anyone know why this engine management light is coming on?
Thanks
Pete

what is happening here is the wrong information being sent to the ECU ( The brain) when you said about the water loss this in-turn sends out all the wrong data to the injection system, as said I would as around for a price to check out your settings. do not panic regards the prices as the tool required to reset can work out very expensive in-turn the cost to reset the codes. regards the work you have had done, did they recheck the timing? if you have paid out a few bob to get that lot sorted & I would think you are talking in the region of 300--400 as said, take It back to the garage that worked on the car & get them to put it right.
