Masks only work for a short time.
Once they get moist the virus can get through they are in effect disposable.
That's why they're just being given to "trained personel" who will replace them when needed.
To quote an expert last night "they're better at stopping infections getting out than getting in"

And what the probability of passing it on to another person is.
Then you might be in a position to think about calculating the spread of the virus and the total number of people that might die.
Although that might involve some sums which you may not have got to in school yet

Well I am slightly worried about it and at the same time Im not if that makes any sense...
If these masks are pointless what if you use an industrial mask would that be better??? I mean these silly little thin pieces of fabric will be moist in no time why don't they come up with something that will actually work???

Jake, see your point but at the same time todate there is nothing to suggest that the spread is killing people. Deaths are mainly confined to specific areas for some reason.
As the majority of the public is thick aas pig sh*t I personally think alot of this is alarmist. I pity the poor GP's that are probably flooded by people with a bit of hayfever demanding the anti viral drug.
JC has only put a bit of perspective on the situation, as it is today. Why do you find it necessary to deride everyone all the time? Are you lacking a bit downstairs or something?

If 1 person gives it to another 2, after 3 weeks 2 million would be infected
If one person gives it to 3 daily, the entire global population will be infected in 3 weeks.
That is why how infectious it is is important - it determines how easy or difficult it will be to control it.
You don't know this - so you don't know how easy or difficult it will be.
If .001 percent of it's victims die and 1 percent of the world gets it you'll see 6,000 deaths.
If 10 percent gets it and .1% die you'll see 600,000 deaths
You don't know this figure either
You have absolutely nothing to base your opinion on
You may be right or wrong but in either case it's just good or bad luck.
You can't base it on the world population because only a small part of the world has been exposed to it.
