I agree that funerals should be sad affairs. People should cry, and in their own way say Goodbye to the one in the coffin.
It's all part of the grieving process. The after do should be filled with happy stories about the deceased, and that too is all part of helping close ones come to terms with their loss.

Yea sqad....he would have loved it. He also would have loved his party. I can honestly say that he knew every person there. He even befriended some big issue sellers and they turned up. He was a special man sqad.....and I was a lucky daughter.

Each to their own sqad. I think the funeral helped me. When I was really down after he died remembering how many people thought enough of him eased the pain. A bloke he went to school with came from Ireland and flew back the same day. Now that says a lot.....
