In the process of losing weight, how do you avoid getting baggy skin remaining - or doesnt that happen to everyone?

In the case of a seriously obsese individual, weight loss can be very rapid and dramatic, and in these cases, the skin does not have time to retract, and can leave excess skin which may need removal by surgery at a later date.
It all depends on the size of the individual at the time of weight, loss, and the speed of that weight loss.

A colleague of mine is a Cambridge Diet Counsellor part time, she deals regularly with people loosing a large amount of weight in a relatively short space of time. She says there's often no rhyme or reason to it - she sees young women with good skin elasticity develop quite a lot of saggy skin, and much older women whose natural elasticity is reduced, that get virtually none. Maybe genetics play their part too? I know one of my colleagues lost 9 stones in as many months doing Lighter Life - she went from 24 stones to just under 15 stones and she got quite a bit of sagging - she is booked in for a tummy tuck later on this year.
Be aware that if you have a tummy tuck the belly button has to be reconfigured. This explains it:
