Student Loans/Grant/Maintenance etc

My son at Uni has the loans,grant etc from SLC since he started last September. Do I have to apply all again for next academic year and then again for his 3rd and final year or do things 'just happen' ie do they send out the figures of when, how much he will be paid etc. Thanks

He needs to reapply by the 26th May (I think) they should send an application through the post but I didn't receive one so have applied online. There aren't as many questions this time though as they already have some of the information.
