AND / OR gates

Dont know if anyone can help,
but i need a simple equivalent to a normal AND gate and a normal OR gate (both 2 input) , but instead of normal CMOS of TTL 3-5v logic,

something that can handle 240v AC?

any ideas, the simpler the better,

basically to check if two items are on, then to output enough 240v ac about .5 amp to power a pump,

and similarly
for a different application
if any one of the two items are on to do the same,

you could use 240v ac electro-mechanical relays & wire the contacts to perform the actions of AND and OR gates.
check the relay contacts can handle 240v ac.

wouldn't have to be a 240v ac relay.could be 12 or 24 v dc as long the contacts are rated 240v ac 0.5amp.

Two switches in series to energise the relay coil would provide the AND function.
Two switches in parallel to energise the relay coil would provide the OR function.

How the switches would be closed depends on how the ON condition of the two unspecified devices would be sensed.
