I imagine there is no definitive answer to this, but just a ball park figure.... When you start to notice your hairline receding, how long would you expect it to be until you lose a substantial amount of hair?

Also, do you lose it at a steady rate, or can it go fast at some times, and less fast at other times? Thanks

hi. i dont know. for some it happens in years. for others it happen in months. it is hereditary but also depends on your hormones. when i reached the conclusion i was receding i started to use regain that u buy from boots and it hasn't got any worse over the last 2 years. might be worth checking out :)
I noticed my hairline was receding when I was about 25 it doesn't necessarily mean it will recede all the way back I am now 51 and it has receded about 2 inches in total don't wast your money on vain hair loss products, they are a waste of money, just accept you gonna lose a bit of hair, no problem.
As advised, there is no hard and fast rule on this. Some men loose a fair bit of hair, and then the loss slows right down - as in my case.

I would agree with Ratter, go bald gracefully, no-one really cares, so make sure you don't either.
well i care and if spending 15 quid a month to delay it for a years is well worth it. mind you i am completely loaded :)

lol alright for some poltergeist. Well, at 19 I'm younger than most people whose hair starts receding so it's hard not to care. Having said that, I wouldn't, I don't think a lot of bald people look bad at all, it's just I don't have the head shape for it, (hope that doesn't sound stupid). Thanks though anyway.
you could try Nourkrin (now called viviscal) for men. Also try Regaine for men. At your age it's worth a go. They're expensive though but you could try them and see. They may not work as your hair loss may be hereditary. Good luck
