1970s series "Kids"

I was trying to remember some programmes watched as a kid in 78-79 and I can vaguely remember a mini series called Kids or something similar about a childrens home and some juvenile delinquents, one episode had a punk girl called Jodie and another had a scene where some kid stole a bus (I rem that as it was filmed near me} Anyone else remember or have more info?

The male lead was James Hazeldine, who also stared in The Omega Factor, soon to be released on DVD.

In more recent years he was in The Bill.

I too remember watching the series, but don't remember any plots.

Sorry, I think James Hazeldine was in London's Burning rather than The Bill. I watch neither, so only caught glimpses of him.
