Do you ever count up how much you spend on stamps? and how much you win? I won 100 years ago in the Skeleton but I've spent that several times over since. Still it keeps my brain ticking over....

I've never actually counted but I am sure it is a lot and I have never won anything!!! But as you say it keeps the old brain active.
Won 20 with the Daily Mail few months back and I'm sure that by now it has all gone on stamps but as you say it helps to keep the old grey matter going.
It's never bothered me. It's a relatively inexpensive hobby and, as you so rigthly comment, it keeps the ( in my case very old ) brain active.
I spend about 4 week on stamps and have won the occcasional crossword cheque. You have got to be in to win but its the luck of the draw as well!
Good luck everyone!
I've won a few small prizes of 20 and 25, dictionaries and bottle of wine. I'm sure I am getting close to more or less paying for the prizes with the stamps I have bought. But like others have said, it is a hobby which I enjoy and it passes many pleasant hours away.
Just to add I have had my first win, a case of 24 bottles of lager in our local paper.
Has anyone out there won the Telegraph or Sunday Times pen ? I've been trying for years.
I once won a guinea, 1.05, from the Irish News many years ago. Since then nothing.
Postage is a small price to pay for the enjoyment crossword fans get from their interest.

I forgot - I won the Scotsman pen - a very good Cross ballpen - about seven years ago. No more complaints from me
I have won the Times Cross pen twice and the Telegraph pen twice. I have also won the scrabble a couple of times and a few book vouchers. Just very lucky I guess. But, as you all say it keeps the head muscle lubricated!
