Hi, does anyone out there know how to open the small tins of Vaseline without breaking their fingernails or needing something sharp to prise them open? They're driving me mad!! Thanks in advance.

Hold the bottom of the tin with your left hand and the top with your right then twist in opposite directions and pull away.

you could buy a large vaseline which usually ends up more cost effective & transfer to a small pot or container that is easier to open, Superdrug & Boots sell small travel pots for toiletries. I presume you need it small to take it in your handbag? I have seen large pots of vaseline sold in the pound shops!!

keep the rim clean, as bits build up thats what causes it to stick, i too experience it and its very annoyin!!!!

When you next close the tin, put a small bit of ribbon over the tin first, so you can open it with that next time. Not a well designed tin, I think.

Thought it was me! I usually end up dropping it on the bathroom floor whilst trying to wrestle the top off! Just thought, maybe putting a rubber band around the lid might help - I must go and look for one!

yeah, i used to have the same trouble.
follow other peoples advice, just keep it clean and twist.
but you can get those big protroleam jelly tubs and you can get them in a bit smaller size too. They have twisty cap tops and are the perfect size to put in your handbag.
