no sound

Can anyone please explain to me why my PC has suddenly lost all sound.Thanks!!!

Have you accidentally pressed the mute button?
It is possibility that due to some virus infection sound driver has gone corrupted.
You need to check about your sound driver status.
To check your sound driver status please follow these steps:
> Start
> Settings
> Control Planel
> System
> Click on Hardware Tab
> Now click on Device Manager
> Now right click the sound driver and go to it's properties and click the option " roll back device driver"
If it not work, then you would have to re-install your sound driver.

Are all your leads plugged in properly?
If you go to Control Panel and click on sounds you should be able to see whether or not your machine has muted itself. If it tells you it is OK then try the solution above.
may be your sound drivers are not working properly .

or the sound drivers are conflicting with some other software due to which sound gets disrupted .

or the speakers wire will be loose so the signals are not properly forwarded.

so update the sound drivers from the device manager.

sound tab should not be muted..

speaker would be connected to the power supply and the computer.
power should be on.

finally check the sound cable.

Thank you all for your replies but the answer was quite simple the power lead plug had come out of its socket by a minimal amount enough to break the contact,sorry to have bothered all of you,another senior moment I'm afraid!!!!!
your problem should be resolved and you will get he sound in the computer .

always check the power connections adn the power button before starting the device so that there is no problem in the device to work it properly.
You can also try to update your drivers.

To check your sound driver status please follow these steps:

update your sound drivers . this is the problem due to the incompatibility of the sound drivers or the drivers are not updated .

check the sepaker cables also may be connectors are loose due to which sound get disrupted .

check the power supply of the speakers . power tab should be on.

first you need to check may be you volume get mute and then check driver may be currepted then try theses steps for roll back driver Start
