The Holiday Song

Years ago there was a song sung by a Maori which was very popular at the time. I can't remember the singer's name but he had a lovely voice. Part of the lyics were "Oh kurrykurryama, means ripples on the water..."
Please excuse my spelling but I've written it phonetically.
Can anyone help me identify singer and song and whether it's available on CD?

I think the singer's name was something like Inia te Wiata

Could Israel Kamakawiwo'ole be the singer you're looking for? He was Hawaiian rather than Maori.

I also wondered that Saxy Jag. I know his version of Over the Rainbow is very popular and he is often thought as being a Maori. He was a great singer with a beautiful voice.

Wikipedia says there was a well-known version by New Zealand artist Prince Tui Teka.

I've found the answer. The singer was Inia te Waiata and the song was Po Karekare Ana.
